You keep the rights to what you make. Only the notes of a piece are ever shared, never a recording. If something of yours was shared without permission, tell us and it comes down.

How Blanc Notes handles music

Blanc Notes is a tool that runs on the person's own iPhone. There's no public catalogue of songs or transcriptions. The app asks people to confirm they have permission before it turns music into notes, and again before it puts a recording's original sound into a video.

The one place other people see someone's piece is the arena, where a player can list the notes of a piece they've confirmed is theirs to share, for players in their league to play. Recordings are never shared.

If something of yours has been shared without permission

Email support@blancnotes.app with:

• your name and how to reach you;
• the work you own, or represent;
• what in Blanc Notes you believe infringes it — the player's username and the piece's title, or a screenshot;
• a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and that the information you've given is accurate.

We'll look at it promptly, take down a listing we agree shouldn't be there, and tell the player. Players who repeatedly share others' work lose the ability to list.

The app, its design, the Blanc Notes name and logo, its themes, characters and sample pieces are ours. Please don't copy them.
